Learn about UAF’s “Bring It Home” Campaign
Monday, October 8th, 2012 was the official start date of the Amer-I-Can program in the Baltimore, M.D. market. UAF Vice Chairman Ray Lewis was key in bringing the program to the city of Baltimore as part of the UAF Community Redevelopment Platform. Amer-I-Can was founded in 1988 by NFL Hall of Fame recipient, Jim Brown. The program goal is to help enable individuals to meet their academic potential, to conform their behavior to acceptable society standards, and to improve the quality of their lives by equipping them with the critical life management skills to confidently and successfully contribute to society.
The United Athletes Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public non-profit organization created in 2008 by a group of professional athletes who understood their unique role in improving the lives of both the athlete fraternity and society in its entirety. To date, there are more than 100 professional athletes associated with UAF, including members of the NFL, NBA, MLB, WNBA and professional boxing. Founded by former NFL player Reggie Howard, the Board of Directors and distinguished Advisory Board includes luminaries such as Ray Lewis, NFL legend Jim Brown, Hank Aaron, NBA legend Julius “Dr. J” Erving and Ambassador Andrew Young.
